IAHPC Membership Matters

October is IAHPC Members' Recognition Month – win an IAHPC Traveling Scholarship or Fellowship!

IAHPC benefits every day from the hard work of our members who are devoted to the advancement of hospice and palliative care worldwide. Members exemplify a continuing commitment to patient care, improved education and favorable policies, consistent with our mission.

October is our Members’ Recognition Month when we highlight the vital function that our members play in the advancement of our mission and formally acknowledge their support.

IAHPC will be giving a prize in two categories: Recognizing Loyalty and Increasing Membership. Click here for full details of the award and eligibility criteria.

Remember to renew your membership, if you haven’t already, and be eligible to participate.

You can read about the winners of the 2016 IAHPC Membership Recognition Awards here. And below we are delighted to feature one of our loyal members …

A loyal Member – Dr. Priyadarshini Kulkarni

In line with the celebration of Members’ month, we wish to highlight a few loyal members: Dr. Priyadarshini Kulkarni (pictured) has been an IAHPC member since 2008. Dr. Kulkarni is a palliative care physician and Medical Director of Simpatico Palliative Connect in Pune, India. Read more.

Dr Kulkarni writes:

When I was in Singapore for my palliative care training in 2007, I met a few members of the IAHPC Board. I felt a strong need to be in touch with them, understand more about this field and get regular updates. I have been religiously following the IAHPC website for the last eight years. I read the newsletter and visit the links. I have been sharing good articles from IAHPC with my colleagues, who are yet to become members. I continue to share the Getting Started publication with those who intend to start palliative care services so that it can serve as their guide. My IAHPC membership has made it possible for me to read many articles from palliative care journals, not otherwise easy to access.

My continuing association with IAHPC keeps me connected to the palliative care world and abreast of the latest developments.

Look out in the next issue of the IAHPC Newsletter for the winners of the October Members’ Recognition awards.
