IAHPC Program Manager, Genevieve Napier, did some brisk trade at the IAHPC booth during the African Palliative Care Association Conference in Kampala, where she welcomed and signed up more than 60 new and renewing members. Perhaps part of the attraction was the chance to enter a prize draw and win a fabulous Apple watch!
In the final session of the conference, IAHPC Chair, Prof. Dr. Lukas Radbruch, announced the lucky winner – Alice Ongera from Kenya, who is a student with Hospice Africa Uganda. But as Alice had to leave the conference early Lukas presented the watch, on her behalf, to her relative, Mary Gacheru.
A week later, back at Hospice Africa Uganda, a delighted Alice was finally united with her prize. Pictured with Alice (on the left of the photo), are Mary Gacheru, Tania Pastrana (IAHPC Research Advisor) and Mhoira Leng (IAHPC board member).
