Your Reasons for Joining the IAHPC Influence Our Programs

For the past year, the IAHPC has included this question on our membership application: Why did you join? Your answers help us understand the needs of our members, and influence the type of programs we support.

You, our members, have identified three main reasons for joining the IAHPC: 1) networking/collaboration with peers, 2) access to resources and information, and 3) advocacy. Members made the following comments, arranged here by category:

Networking / Collaboration with Peers

Join a network and work with a international community.
Grow partnerships and professional partners that offer hospice.
Join in worldwide palliative care network.
The wonderful work you do and our desire to collaborate with you!
To build my network of hospice and palliative care practice in the international community.
To connect with many more palliative care workers across the world.

Access to resources and information

To get a deeper knowledge of palliative care services so as to better help those with life-limiting illnesses.
Desire to be kept informed of global developments within palliative care.
As a palliative provider, I wanted to learn more from the experts around the world.
Continuing knowledge.
Increase my knowldge and practice in palliative care.
To be able to access resources.

Advocacy

IAHPC is one of the big groups of palliative care advocates that nurtures learning and promotion of palliative care.
Interest in international access to palliative care.
My interests and expertise are developing more in the global hospice and palliative care movement.

You, our members, are IAHPC's most important and cherished resource. Members' Impact celebrates your successes; let us know about:

Your articles and books that have been published (in the medical literature)
Your research posters that have been disseminated
Your awards
Your successful initiatives, such as fundraising programs, workplace advances, online courses or presentations, etc.
