Giving Tuesday Launches Library Fundraiser (and more!)

In the United States, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving day (celebrated on the third Thursday of November) is called ‘Giving Tuesday’; it is a day to celebrate the generosity of giving by donating to communities and NGOs. On this Giving Tuesday, November 27, we launched several fundraising campaigns for IAHPC, including one through GlobalGiving to raise support for the IAHPC library program.

Through the IAHPC library, our more than 1,000 IAHPC members worldwide gain access to the CINAHL database and several palliative care journals. This access is extremely valuable to palliative care workers, but it is also very expensive. At IAHPC we need to raise the funds every year so that we can continue to offer this benefit.

Giving Tuesday may be past, but it’s not too late to support the library through our Global Giving campaign.

Fundraising is crucial to the continuation of our mission. At IAHPC we work at all levels — from lobbying for international standards of palliative care, to supporting individual palliative care workers — to achieve the goal of alleviating the serious health-related suffering that far too many patients endure at the end of life.

Every gift, large or small, helps us in this mission; every gift is greatly valued. And when you contribute to IAHPC this holiday season, you can direct your gift to a facet of our work that is closest to your heart:

We are very grateful to the individuals and organizations that have donated to support our mission.
