Welcome to the June issue of the newsletter.
Our Guest Writer on the Featured Article page is Dr. Mhoira Leng, IAHPC board member and a specialist palliative care physician based in Uganda. In ‘Growing leaders’, Mhoira ponders how we develop the clinical and academic leaders of tomorrow and it would seem that IAHPC could well be a key to that! Dr. Katherine Pettus reports on the European Association for Palliative Care World Congress held last month in Madrid and IAHPC’s involvement in the World Health Assembly meeting on the Policy and Advocacy page. And there are two great articles from IAHPC members in this issue, HOSPICE Casa Sperantei in Romania and Cudeca in Spain, as well as lots of reviews, abstracts and resources.
For me, a highlight of the past month was attending the EAPC World Congress and meeting the IAHPC team, board members and many of the Traveling Scholars, as well as so many other old friends from across the world.
Many thanks to our contributors, and to all involved in this issue of the newsletter.
All good wishes,
Avril Jackson
