Horror King turns lens on the world of hospice

Director Sean Cunningham achieved worldwide fame for creating the iconic Friday The 13th franchise, but some of his diehard fans expecting his usual over-the-top thrills and chills might be shocked by his new documentary that brings death into focus in a different, more positive and realistic light.

The film, The Nurse with the Purple Hair, follows hospice nurse Michelle Lasota BSN, RN, CHPN, CNIII as she administers mind-body-spirit care tailored to meet the unique needs of her clients while helping their families prepare for and face death with compassion, wisdom, and grace. The film’s central message about a subject that is somewhat taboo in our society is: Be brave enough to have an end-of-life conversation that matters.
