Editor’s corner

Welcome to the August edition of the IAHPC Newsletter – once more packed with stories and comments from across the world.

In her regular column on the Policy and Advocacy page, Dr. Katherine Pettus brings you the latest Human Rights Council resolutions. Dr. Natalie Greaves from Barbados is our guest writer on the Featured Article page where she and her colleagues make the case for evidence-based advocacy to advance palliative care. Traveling Scholars explain how their attendance at the International Palliative Care Children’s Network conference in Argentina will help to make a difference back at their workplace, and on the Global Palliative Care Community page you can read Dr. Chitra Weerakkody’s speech to the World Health Organization regional consultation in Sri Lanka. And just in case you're short of holiday reading we can promise you some excellent book reviews and abstracts from Roger Woodruff and Barry Ashpole.

Many thanks to everyone for contributing to this edition – I hope you will enjoy it!

All good wishes,
Avril Jackson
Senior Editor
