Professor Julia Downing, palliative care nurse, educationalist, researcher and a member of our Board of Directors, is among several other prominent women designated as agents of change in oncology who were interviewed for a new report to mark International Women’s Day (8 March).

Women as change agents in oncology celebrates the contribution of women to science, practice, advocacy and care – all critical elements in tackling cancer. The report celebrates women from around the world who are making remarkable contributions in reducing the devastating impact cancer has upon individuals and societies, providing hope and inspiration through their determination to change the future of cancer care.
