Welcome to the March issue of our newsletter in which we bring you a selection of news, reviews and comment. Dr Katherine Pettus describes IAHPC’s important role in three key policy and advocacy initiatives; Dr Eduardo Mutto, Traveling Scholar, explains the background to his PhD thesis on education in palliative care in Argentina and our Feature Article looks at the work of Dr Karen Fernandez and Mr Aditya Manna, winners of this year’s Palliative Care Network Best Poster Awards. We’ve also introduced a new column called ‘Global Palliative Care Community Highlights’ that aims to bring you new initiatives about practice and development – this month we feature a primary care project in Brazil and a first-ever leadership workshop in India. And not least there’s a selection of book and journal reviews, news items and other resources. We thank everyone for their input and are especially delighted to welcome a short contribution from one of IAHPC’s new board members, Professor Sushma Bhatnagar.
Regards,
Avril Jackson
