How was this meeting/activity helpful to you?

The 3rd ICPCN Conference: Inspiration, Innovation, Integration helped me to achieve my professional objectives developing palliative care competences related to care for children and their families and also learning strategies to integrate palliative care competences to undergraduate courses. This conference overcame my expectations transforming also my personal background with the opportunity to approach diverse cultures and be inspired to improve my involvement in the practice of pediatric palliative care.

How will you new knowledge & acquired skills help in furthering your work in hospice and palliative care in your program/city/ or country?

The knowledge and skills gained at the 3rd ICPCN Conference will help me to improve the nursing undergraduate and graduate curriculum at the university I currently work as assistant professor. Also, will help me to conduct new approaches for researches we develop in Sao Paulo/ Brazil. Another important advancement for palliative care at my country in this experience was the challenges exchanges with colleagues across countries, broadening my approach to help inform public education through strategies to advocate in the improvement of brazilian policies dedicated to attend children and families in palliative care. I am a member of a Nursing Palliative Care Network - Red Internacional De Enfermería En Cuidados Paliativos (RIENCUPA) and the knowledge gained at the conference will help me extend research and collaborations in this network to work on improvements to policies, practice and research for pediatric palliative care in Brazil.

How IAHPC Traveling Scholars Program be improved in order to help other future traveling scholars?

The IAHPC Traveling Scholarship offers an unique opportunity to connect, to learn and to go beyond our individual practices, getting together experts in the field of palliative care to inspire our daily lives. In order to bring together the scholarship holders, I would suggest a meeting scheduled at each conference so that they can meet and articulate strategies, such as organizing auctions to raise funds for the association. These actions are very integrative and help to spread these edifying initiatives that IAHPC makes possible.
