Name of Meeting/Event/Activity: Trainings (Formations) in Palliative Care

Origin: Petion-Villie, Haiti / Destination: Madrid, Spain

How was this meeting/activity helpful to you?

Before any I yours has to thank quite those who contributed so that I can obtain this training(formation) on the palliative care; has the IAHPC, has the fundation Paliativos sin fronteras. For this month I learnt many things, I see that the pallliatifs care go farther than a lot of people thinks, I was better able to differentiate the palliative care of the care final . I was able to visit several children has place of residence with chronic diseases, to meet their families, make them feel(smell) our presence by accompanying them until the last moment. My guardian knew how to me direct on several parmis themes which one(which) the mourning to his(her) families. Roughly the experience(experiment) had been very good and I am going to do best to share what I taught to the other professionals of my Hospital

How will you new knowledge & acquired skills help in furthering your work in hospice and palliative care in your program/city/ or country?

As I had sometimes said was a very good experience, a very practical experience because almost everything is made has place of residence with our patients and families. I had of pass one week in the service of pediatric oncology and a few days has the just grown-up palliative unity of care to see the differences. My country is a country has low way almost without resources, thus he things which would be a little bit difficult, also very few people are educated. But I guaranteed that I am going to share this experience with the other doctors, to make sensitive them under the palliative care and to see how we could begin has to concretize everything at the level of our hospital and still continues because the palliative care can be made in the levels: primary, secondary sector and terciaire and  make them understand also that the palliative care not replace the curative care. Thus I think that with trainings continuous for the doctors, the nurses, psycologue and the social worker we could little has few to introduce with scale the palliative care into our health system.

How IAHPC Traveling Scholarship be improved in order to help other future traveling scholars?

I think that it was good, a stock grant remains a stock grant, we the human beings would like to have always the more and the more but for me it was good, I am satisfied. But if however we could improve it for the others it would be good. What I can say once again it is thank you, to have only the training it is a good thing.

Narrative summary highlighting the needs and challanges you face

As you all know, Haiti is a country under , we almost have no resources, the major part of the things which we had come of outside by helps(assistants), organizations and other collaborators who want to help, but however we the young people think until now that Haiti can go out or it is, the trainings(formations) help us, prepare us better to provide to compare some good things which the other countries have and we not, and to see how we could improve something. But lacks of means economiques always limit us. For the palliative care I guaranteed that I am going to share all of which I have just learnt(taught) with the other professionals of the hospital. But for other things which me they are the resources, I cannot mention because we needed everything is our limitation.
