Name of Meeting/Event/Activity: Latin American Virtual Conference on Palliative Care
Origin: Sao Paulo, Brazil / Destination: Bogota, Colombia
First of all, I would like to congratulate the IAHPC leadership for the initiative to be able to grant the scholarship to participate in the Latin American Virtual Day of Palliative Care. Thank you for being one of the recipients of this scholarship. And congratulations on the success of the organization by the ALCP organizing committee. I have appreciated it very much since the opening with the presidents, Dr. Bonilla and Dr. Tripodoro. It permeated the central theme "Transforming the Art of Caring", in an interesting and varied way, highlighting the form of care addressing the change in the care paradigm in this Pandemic, such as Telemedicine and Home Palliative Care. Another very important aspect in this event was to raise it in some important sessions, such as on Use and abuse of opioids that made a thorough analysis with objectivity and in order to disclose such an issue that the world tends to evade. Aspects of home care in Latin American countries was interesting to see the points of convergence and paradigms, the difficulties and different ways of treating the same type of care for patients with advanced disease with sometimes subtle and other important differences. I finish my report on my participation in this journey. Once again congratulating the initiative of the ALCP to organize such an event even in this difficulty to optimize the resources in the middle of this Pandemic by COVID-19. Gratitude for participation. Wishing everyone and in all countries the control of this Pandemic comes as soon as possible.
