Travel date: October 7, 2020
Name of Meeting/Event/Activity: 11th EAPC Research Congress - Online
Origin: Yerevan, Armenia / Destination: Vilvoorde, Belgium
Meeting was very helpful, I downloaded and recorded lot of useful materials. Most interesting and actual were presentations about care of patients with COVID and respiratory problems.
I am not practitioner, just teach students and residents general principles, palliative care approach, integration of palliative care in healthcare, primary palliative care, so I will use all new information for updating my lectures and presentations
I think, the program is great, just problem in numbers of scholarships. Of course live is better, but online format allows at least me to participate and stay informed and updated
I am very thankful for opportunity granted me to participate in the EAPC 11th World Research Congress.
Palliative care in Armenia does just his first steps. Process of organization of new service, needs assessment, braking bad news, communication with patient and family – all is based on international guidelines and recommendations and does not consider local traditions, culture, mentality. To develop customized to local health care system, needs and reality, palliative care we need to have own reliable research data. Any kind of new information, participation in conferences, symposiums, listening of presentation and discussion of researches results is great valuable experience for me. Of course, live congress, real participation, several unformal contacts, face-to-face discussions are much more effective and interesting. The atmosphere of congress itself is in paramount importance and great inspiring stimulus, but online format allows more people engage in process.
