I had an opportunity to attend the wonderful scientific program. The learning experience was encouraging and stimulating to transform good clinical practice. I will be able to give more than what i could do now, through this palliative care program. This will satisfy and delight me to help someone in need as part of their final days of life. Thanks very much.
I feel privileged and grateful for the precious opportunity to attend the APHC 2017, Singapore conference on the travel scholarship. With improved knowledge of palliative care, I would be effectively able to resolve unpleasant and uncomfortable situations with positive outcome through effective communication. This would help me to manage patients holistically, with a focus on comforting a person’s body and soul, and will do my best to improve not only the community, but also my country.
IAHPC Travelling Scholarship helped me to improve insight about palliative care by attending this meeting. After this program, I will be able to do better pain management practice, improved decision making power, better communication regarding treatment option and good end of life services. Actively involved at the role play made me think about the role of palliative care strength in different unpleasant and difficult situations. This transforms into holistic care and best satisfaction of managing the patients.
With the help of knowledge and shared thoughts, I would like to initiate the palliative services not only in my city, but also to start palliative care program at community, regional and national level.
My long term plan could be to further strengthen the clinical application of palliative care to the various specialties of medicine. Bring about awareness in the medical community and general population at my home town. Every patient will be having access to all essential drugs including opioids. Many thanks to IAHPC.
