How was this meeting/activity helpful to you?

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank IAHPC for supporting me with a travelling scholarship that enabled me attend the 15th World Congress of the European Association for Palliative Care - “Progressing Palliative Care” that took place in Madrid, Spain from 18th to 20th May, 2017.This was a timely meeting because it provided me with a good forum for networking and has increased my knowledge on palliative care. Through this meeting, I have also learned implementation of palliative care in a resource limited countries. As a young Oncologist, this knowledge will help me deliver quality care to all patient whom I attend at Ocean Road Cancer Institute

How will you new knowledge & acquired skills help in furthering your work in hospice and palliative care in your program/city/ or country?

I shall share the knowledge gained from conference to my work mates as well as spread the news on palliative care to others staff who have no idea. I will use our daily continuous medical education session to update my colleagues. For my country, I shall participate in the expansion of palliative care sites for government and non government sites. I shall use my knowledge to integrate palliative care into the health system as well as informing the public and improve the quality of palliative care services by making it accessible at all levels. Because I have been motivated by what I saw in Madrid, I will sensitize my colleagues to become IAHPC membership.

How IAHPC Traveling Scholars Program be improved in order to help other future traveling scholars?

Number of scholarships should be increased so that more palliative care expert from resource limited countries like my country can benefit. Awareness should be made so that more health care workers especially those working in palliative care get informed about IAHPC and become members.
