How was this meeting/activity helpful to you?

This training was very important and helpful to me, because after receiving the theoretical training, I learn the different aspect of Palliative Care, I practice Palliative care with control Of Pain, management of symptoms, psychosocial support, considering the cultural and spiritual aspects of the patient and his family. This practice was done in Hospice Office in the Hospital and in Patient Home. I also receive knowledge to be a training officer in the last week program ‘’Training of Trainer’’.

How will you new knowledge & acquired skills help in furthering your work in hospice and palliative care in your program/city/ or country?

The new knowledge and acquired skills will be practice daily in the patients in children who have burkitt lymphoma and adult patients with oro-facial cancer. I will train my colleagues doctors, nurses, and others paramedic personnel in the management of pain by Oral Morphine and palliative care. I will do advocacy with the pharmacist, the Director of CHUSS Hospital Minister of Health, for the importation of Powder Morphine to prepare liquid morphine which is shipper easy to manage by the patient anywhere. Because in my country we don’t have liquid morphine. We have available injectable and tablet morphine. I will do advocacy with the directors of the Faculty of Medicine and School of Nurses to increase and include in their programs Palliative care and management of pain by morphine liquid. I will create a Palliative care unit in CHUSS Hospital and promote the creation of Palliative care Association.

How IAHPC Traveling Scholars Program be improved in order to help other future traveling scholars?

I think that if the IAHPC Traveling Scholarship can help in other charges of the training like part of the hotel charges in they have possibility.
