Traveling Scholars Program Report

Anthelme Kouessi Agdodande, DR

Travel date: August 16, 2016

Name of Meeting/Event/Activity: 5th International African Palliative Care Conference

Origin: Cotonou, Benin / Destination: Kampala, Uganda

How was this meeting/activity helpful to you?

This meeting allowed me to share with others the experience of Benin in the palliative care field as well and disseminate what we do. This conference was an opportunity for us to learn from the experience of other countries in order to improve our practice.

How will you new knowledge & acquired skills help in furthering your work in hospice and palliative care in your program/city/ or country?

The recognition of our efforts by others, gives us the strength to get more involved in palliative care. We will improve our method to seek funding for palliative care and work to integrate palliative care as part of the health system in Benin

How IAHPC Traveling Scholars Program be improved in order to help other future traveling scholars?

The support from your association is already very important. I just wonder if it is possible to give the scholarship to more people
