Travel date: April 14, 2016
Name of Meeting/Event/Activity: VIII Latin American Congress on Palliative Care
Origin: Valdiva, Chile / Destination: Mexico City, Mexico
This experience allowed me to know the work of other Latin American countries in palliative care and contact with colleagues and professionals with the same concerns and difficulties in daily work. I also had the opportunity to hear very interesting presentations by international experts in education in palliative care, spirituality and education among others.
I acquired tools in the area of education will help me to improve and perfect the internship program (practice rotation for undergraduate medical students) in palliative care offered by the Austral University of Chile; as well as the experience to know the Colombian Network of Education in Palliative Care. The latter is a practice worth replicating in our country. Many of the papers presented interesting questions arose regarding our daily practice in the Palliative Care Unit where I work and hence future areas of research.
As the scholarship is presented I find nothing to improve the moment, it was an excellent choice to have access to excellent academic activity that otherwise would not have agreed
