Baltic Palliative Care Association (BPCA) is a regional non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and development of palliative care. The main goal is to improve the quality of life of patients with advanced life-threatening conditions and their families through collaboration. BPCA is the organization that unites medical professionals, other professionals and non-professionals seeking excellence in and advancement of palliative medicine through prevention and relief of patient and family suffering by providing education and clinical practice standards. Also Association advocates holistic palliative care, which includes physical, psychological, social, spiritual and practical support to enhance the quality of life. BPCA members strive to provide leadership in palliative care in the Baltics.

First purpose-built hospice in Lithuania, opened in Vilnius on 6 June 2012.
Pal. Fr. Mykolos Sopočkas hospice is a place where help is provided to persons suffering from oncological diseases and other illnesses, in the terminal stage of the disease. Help is provided free of charge. The hospice also helps the patients' relatives. All kinds of support during the last period of the patient's life and during mourning are very necessary for his relatives.
The inpatient hospice is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our home hospice team is ready to provide assistance at the patient's home by pre-arranged visit time, with a family physician referral for palliative outpatient care.
