Description
The National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR)is the premier cancer hospital for the State of Qatar. It is part of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and looks after cancer patients who require ongoing treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy. NCCCR also treats blood conditions and will soon be opening the first Center for Bone Marrow Transplants in Qatar. The National Center for Cancer Care and Research offers patients a range of dedicated, specialized care and a unique range of services including urgent care, hematology and oncology as well as palliative care.
Our Palliative Care program aims to achieve the best possible quality of life for patients and help relieve suffering, control pain, manage other distressing symptoms and restore functional capacity.
As a department we specialize in pain and symptom management, and quality of life and other aspects of palliative care (psychological, emotional, social, spiritual, existential and cultural). We also received a Teaching & Education Award from the Weil Cornell Medical University of Qatar (2010 and 2011).
