Sawai Man Singh Hospital is the major hospital of Jaipur and Rajasthan state of India. This government hospital is staffed with 255 doctors and 660 nurses with 6000 beds in 43 wards. The construction of the hospital building began in 1934. The hospital is named after Sawai Man Singh II, then King of Jaipur. The hospital also provides practical training to the students of the Sawai Man Singh Medical College. The department of Palliative Medicine deals with the patients suffering from life limiting illness due to cancerous and non cancerous causes. It offers a support system to help the family cope during the patient’s illness and in their own bereavement. It uses a team approach to address the needs of patients and their families including bereavement counseling. The Department has 6 days opds in a week except Sunday available on 4 floors room no 49, Dhanwantri Bhawan, SMS hospital, Jaipur. Day care facility, available at room no 47, 4th floor, Operation theatre- for minimally invasive procedures and Home care Visits-
