Faraja Hospice and Palliative Care Programme, Faraja Centre CBHC
Description
Faraja Hospice and Palliative Care Programme is a home-based program in Singida Municipality, Tanzania. It is a programme of Faraja Centre CBHC. Its emphasis is on providing compassionate skilled End-of-Life Care to all who need it. There are currently 180-190 patients being treated at home by the staff of one MD, one Clinical Officer and three nurses. They are are assisted by 34 PCHWs (trained Volunteer Health Workers from the 18 Wards of the Municipality. Other resources utilized are medications for control of severe pain (oral morphine solution) and other medications needed for treatment of an individual patient. Bereavement visits and counseling is provided.Region
