Aomori Prefectural Central Hospital - Palliative Medicine Department
Description
The palliative care department will be the core of the palliative care team, and will provide seamless support during and after cancer treatment, including home care, so that we can intervene from the early stages of diagnosis and provide support even when palliative care is the main focus. While coexisting with cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, it is possible to intervene from the early stages of the disease and alleviate the side effects associated with those treatments. Doctors and specialized nurses form a team (palliative care team) to deal with the difficulties of patients and their families with a team approach. In addition, it is the role of the palliative care team to play a role in coordinating the location of medical treatment for patients and their families who wish to be transferred to another hospital or receive medical treatment at home.
