Opened in 2006, the Hospital Palliative Care Unit (USP) is celebrating its tenth anniversary today by benefiting from new premises at the Martigny hospital. It welcomes adult patients of all ages with advanced or terminal progressive disease presenting difficult symptoms and increased care needs. The Mobile Palliative Care Team (EMSP), for its part, offers consultations in the various care facilities: in the patients' places of residence (private home / EMS), in the acute hospital services of the Hôpital du Valais, in Sion, Martigny. , Sierre, Monthey and Montana; it also provides outpatient consultations at the Martigny hospital and in the outpatient oncology departments in Martigny, Sion and Monthey. It intervenes, at the request of the health professionals in charge of the patient (doctors and / or caregivers), for patients suffering from chronic disease, whatever the stage of development, and for their families.
