Description
The Center for Palliative Medicine offers comprehensive and cross-sectoral general and specialized palliative care:inpatient on a 15-bed palliative care unit, at home by the Palliative Care Team (SAPV), by the palliative medical service
in the outpatient departments of the university clinic by the medical care center (MVZ), Care coordination through cross-sectoral case management. The Center for Palliative Medicine looks after patients with serious, incurable diseases who require hospitalization. The aim of treatment is physical, psychological and emotional stabilization, extensive symptom relief and - if possible - discharge home or to suitable care. This includes careful and comprehensive discharge and supply planning. If the discharge is not possible, the dying and grief counseling is an essential part of the care.
