Visiting Nurse
Description
Visiting Nurse has served the healthcare needs of the residents of northeast Indiana since 1888. As a community-based, non-profit agency, the Visiting Nurse team pours our hearts into caring for the seriously ill and their families. Visiting Nurse continues to provide hospice care in patients’ residences (including nursing homes) or in its Hospice Home. The agency’s Palliative Care program provides nursing care to homebound patients with serious illnesses who are receiving curative treatments as well as palliative consultations in area nursing facilities and by appointment at the Palliative Care Clinic, located at 2514 East Dupont Circle Drive, Suite 120, on the Dupont Hospital campus. At Visiting Nurse, we care both for the patient and the family, with supportive services and bereavement counseling at The Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center, located on the Visiting Nurse campus, available at no charge to those who go on living. Our goal is to foster the optimal quality of life through medical, spiritual and emotional support.
