Munich University Hospital - Department of Palliative Medicine
Description
The Department of Palliative Medicine provides support and comprehensive care for people with advanced, incurable diseases and their relatives. With our multi-professional team (doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, chaplains, physiotherapist, breathing therapist), we support patients and their relatives in our 10-bedded palliative care unit, with our hospital support team in the University Hospital, in our outpatient clinic and by our specialist palliative home care team. We care for people suffering from cancer, but also from chronic lung, heart and kidney disease or advanced neurological diseases. In addition to patient care, we provide undergraduate and postgraduate training, the latter in our education centre, the Christophorus Academy. Research is focussing on patient complexity, sedation at the end of life, pharmaceutical aspects, and breathlessness.
