New Zealand National Child Cancer Network
Description
The New Zealand National Child Cancer Network (NCCN) provides clinical leadership and oversight of the provision of services for children and young people with cancer in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Central to the work of the Network is ensuring that children receive the best possible care regardless of who they are or where they live in New Zealand. The NCCN promotes a nationally coordinated and consistent approach to the delivery of care, monitor and review child cancer services to inform continuous quality improvement, maintain supportive care guidelines, and support a series of working groups. The working group involve a diverse range of health professionals and provide ongoing advice, recommendations and action plans on specific areas of service delivery across the continuum of child cancer care. The Network also supports shorter-term groups who consider specific technical or clinical issues or service delivery gaps and work to specific project plans or work programmes. They also manage the New Zealand Children's Cancer Registry (NZCCR) and LEAP-IT database, providing crucial data for service planning and national statistics.
