Harbor Hospice and Harbor Palliative Care
Description
For nearly four decades, Harbor Hospice has provided skilled, compassionate end-of-life care by addressing the medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and their families regardless of their ability to pay for it. We offer specialized health care at home or in a home-like setting such as a residential facility or our Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence. Harbor Hospice is certified by Medicare and Medicaid and our services for which there is a fee are covered by most health insurance plans.
Harbor Palliative Care professionals provide specialized medical support to patients who are not ready for hospice but are dealing with challenging, life-limiting symptoms of their condition. We partner with each patient’s doctor to determine how best to bring comfort to the patient so they can resume activities they love like having dinner with friends and spending time with grandchildren.
Each day at our Bob and Merle Scolnik Healing Center in Muskegon, grief counselors offer support groups and one-on-one time for family members, partners, friends, and care givers learning how to cope with heartache and loss. Because we believe so strongly in the power of grief support, our services are free of charge and available to everyone.
