Created in 1988 with the main objective of improving the quality of life of patients whose disease is at an advanced stage, who no longer respond to curative treatments and where the control of pain and other symptoms is of the utmost importance.
In the Pain Clinic we intervene: Communication with the terminal patient and his family, Bereavement, Pain assessment, Pain control with opioid analgesics, Control of symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, hydration and nutrition, insomnia and others that accompany terminally ill patients. We provide free consultations at the Oncology Institute and at home, to patients diagnosed with cancer who present pain or any symptom associated with advanced disease.
