Learning objectives 1 Advancement of Caring Science: Improving nursing's understanding and knowledge of caring science is one of the program's goals. Investigating the theoretical underpinnings of caring, how caring interactions affect patient outcomes, and creating interventions or models that support compassionate and patient-centered care are all part of this process. The program's goal is to advance the theories and frameworks of care that direct nursing practice and instruction.
Learning objectives 2 Enhancing Palliative Care: Increasing research and knowledge in the area of palliative care is another goal. Investigating multiple palliative care facets, including symptom control, end-of-life decision-making, psychological support, and family-centered care, may be necessary. The program's objectives are to produce scholars who can add to the body of knowledge about caring science and its relation to palliative care, enhance the quality of life for people who are sick and their families, and foster interdisciplinary healthcare teams' good communication and collaboration.
Learning objectives 3 Promoting Transcultural Nursing: Promoting transcultural nursing research and practice is another third goal. This includes investigating how culture affects health and healthcare disparities, comprehending how culture affects health attitudes and behaviors, and creating interventions sensitive to cultural differences to enhance health outcomes for various populations. The program seeks to develop nurse researchers who can address the difficulties of providing care that is culturally competent, contribute to healthcare policies that are culturally appropriate, and advance health equity in a variety of cultural contexts.
Description The PhD in Nursing Science is a research-focused doctoral program that equips nurses for leadership, academic, and advanced research positions. Its goal is to produce academics with the skills to enhance nursing science knowledge through research, theory building, and evidence-based practice, particularly in relation to caring for others, transcultural nursing, palliative care, and other essential areas. Coursework in research methodology, statistics, nursing theory, and special topics relevant to the student's research interests are frequently included in the curriculum. This is a multifaceted and emerging degree which is not only found in the Philippines but globally as well.
