Learning objectives 1 Trainees will acquire the skills to lead a multidisciplinary approach to patients with advanced diseases and their families in their physical, emotional, social and spiritual dimensions.
Learning objectives 2 Trainees will be able to integrate into multidisciplinary health teams and work in coordination with other specialists with the aim of improving the quality of patient care.
Learning objectives 3 Trainees will be competent in managing the symptoms that occur in advanced diseases, both oncological and non-oncological, and will have effective communication skills with the patient, their families, and the health team.
Description The central objective of this Fellowship is to train a physician specialized in the clinical management of patients with advanced and/or life-limiting diseases in adults (over 18 years of age), with solid theoretical training in the areas necessary for a well-founded performance of their clinical practice. The trainee will acquire the necessary skills and competencies to integrate the family and social support networks into health care, to articulate their work with other specialists and professionals in the area, and to make decisions framed in an ethical practice based on the principles of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
