Learning objectives 1 The Master aims at training medical practitioners with the necessary qualifications to operate within the palliative care network, providing theoretical knowledge and skills in the field of late stage disease patient care, in all evolutionary pathologies.
Learning objectives 2 The Professional Master Program in Advanced Training and Qualification in Palliative Care aims to train doctors with a modern care approach based on the multi-professional approach of taking charge, with the aim of providing prompt and effective responses to the complex needs of the patient with incurable disease and his family and to address the clinical-organizational criticalities of a palliative care service.
Learning objectives 3 Focus on clinical care (pain and symptoms management, cancer and non-cancer illness, aged and fragile patients), relation and communication with patients and families, ethics and legal aspects, organization and management (national and international models, quality, research), humanistic and social skills (history of palliative care, anthropology, cross-cultural aspects, spirituality).
Description Traditional training method (lectures, seminars, conferences), group work and project work, internships (learning by doing/learning by thinking). Admission is restricted to a maximum of 20 participants with a degree in Medicine and Surgery. The training course is divided into two years and guarantees a total of 120 ECTS. The Master ends with a final exam (5 ETCS).
