Learning objectives 1 | The goal of the fellowship is to train physicians who will be leaders in Palliative Medicine clinical care, research, and education. |
Learning objectives 2 | Equip fellows with knowledge and skills in advanced pain and symptom management. |
Learning objectives 3 | Provide fellows with ample opportunity to acquire and practice—in real-life and simulated settings—communication skills needed for complex discussions around care for patients living with serious illness. |
Description | Our ACGME-accredited Fellowship is housed within the Department of Medicine and the Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics. Over the course of the one-year training program, our fellows become expert palliative medicine physicians by participating in our curriculum involving clinical care at multiple sites involving varied patient populations, didactic and experiential learning led by our more than 25 palliative medicine physician faculty and many other interdisciplinary team members, and learner-centered year-long mentorship from the fellowship program leadership and faculty. |
