Learning objectives 1 | - Develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes leading to proficiency in all the domains of clinical competency required by the fellow to assume personal responsibility for the care of individual patients. - Embrace the concept of graded responsibility in patient care: our aim is for the fellows to gain experience and demonstrate growth in their ability to care for patients and progressively assume roles that permit them to exercise those skills with greater independence and to develop competency to practice clinical hospice and palliative care independently. |
Learning objectives 2 | - Develop the skills, knowledge, competencies and attitudes required to enter the unsupervised practice of hospice and palliative care. - Establish a strong foundation for continued professional growth. |
Learning objectives 3 | - Learn the value of becoming part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve the goal of best patient care. - To establish a caring attitude and sensitivity to the health care needs of a diverse society. - To care for patients in a compassionate manner that considers physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. |
Description | We invite you to consider joining our DNV-accredited palliative medicine program, optimally based at a HealthGrades top 1% hospital. Under the umbrella of our regional health system, we have comprehensive access to pediatric palliative care, inpatient and outpatient palliative care, and an embedded hospice program. We offer experiences at multiple hospitals and community settings, encompassing a wide range of opportunities in the Rochester, New York Region. Our faculty are highly sought after clinicians, who have trained at some of the most renowned academic programs, and excel at teaching, mentoring and serving as system leaders. Our fellows in turn will participate in the education of other learners, while working as an integral part of a high functioning interdisciplinary team. We take great pride in our strong clinical training program and would be honored to help you succeed in this unique field of medicine. |
