The goal of Alison’s work as Senior Newsletter Editor is to facilitate access to data, information, and global knowledge concerning palliative care. She creates positive stories and focused messaging with input from the IAHPC board, staff and members to support and advance the global palliative care movement.
Alison organizes and edits the content of the monthly newsletter, writes stories, selects photos, and posts newsletter items on social media. She also copyedits entries for Pallipedia, IAHPC’s online palliative care dictionary.
Alison joined the IAHPC at the end of 2017 after working as a reporter, editor of community newspapers, feature story writer for magazines, and researcher/fast-checker for Reader’s Digest Canada. She also served as managing editor of the Journal of Palliative Care.
Alison is trained in chemical technology and has a journalism degree.
She lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where—due to a long winter—she enjoys a sadly abbreviated golf season with her partner and many, many evenings of reading fiction.
