MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear readers:
The past two months have been busy with several meetings, projects and new and exciting developments.
1. 19th World AIDS Conference: The conference took place during July 22-27 in Washington, DC with almost 20,000 participants and more than 190 countries represented. The Worldwide Palliative Care Alliance (WPCA) hosted a booth where all the palliative care organizations and associations were able to give information to those interested. This edition of the NL includes a brief summary written by Claire Morris, Advocacy Officer of the WPCA, as well as some highlights of the meeting. New Website:
We will be launching our new website very soon. This website has taken a lot of work and time to complete, especially since we have hundreds of pages of information which had to be evaluated and discussed before uploading. We are very grateful for the work of our webmaster, Danilo Fritzler and the members of our board committee working on this task; the members are William Farr, Roger Woodruff, Yvonne Luxfod, Bernard Lapointe, Roberto Wenk and Liliana De Lima. We hope you will enjoy using our new website and its improvements in navigation and design.
Until next month,
Roberto Wenk, MD
Chair
Liliana De Lima, MHA
Executive Director
