How was this meeting/activity helpful to you?

I managed to learn more about Palliative care. The modern technologies, skills and research done in various countries regarding Palliative and end of life care. I appreciated more on the nursing skills practiced in European countries for taking care of the families of the dying patients.

How will you new knowledge & acquired skills help in furthering your work in hospice and palliative care in your program/city/ or country?

Together with my colleagues from Tanzania we are planning to have more strong palliative care Association in Tanzania. To organize some trainings to our medical personnel on palliative care. Personally iam very much involved in the establishment of Community awareness creating camps as well as various clinics in collaboration with one of our mainly Community NGO by the name of CCP Medicine in Ilala Dar es Salaam

How IAHPC Traveling Scholarship be improved in order to help other future traveling scholars?

Attending the conferences and seminars is costly, probably you may increase the amount to assist the participants who are willing to attend but they have limited financial capabilities. The funds should be channeled straight to the organizer of the meeting/ conferences and other events so that they can process everything necessary for the meeting. Arrangements for the organizing countries to receive the guests from other countries should be well coordinated

Narrative summary highlighting the needs and challanges you face

The country is currently promoting palliative care services in collaboration with partners. Some trainings have been conducted by the Ministry of Health especially on Home Based care Services. However more trainings to health care workers in various health facilities is recommended. I managed to learn how important is palliative care as part of the end of Life services, and therefore I felt so proud to be part of the Research Congress participant. Feedback that has been given to the respective authority will be honored and implemented. Thanks once again for the opportunity, looking forward to share more from my Country in the future conferences
