Donations to IAHPC: We are very grateful with the following organizations for their commitment to IAHPC and for their financial support:

The Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fund to help support palliative care education in sub-Saharan Africa: This grant was awarded a year ago and we recently received the second payment of the grant. The grant is to support individuals working in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe towards covering the costs of:

- Post-qualification certified courses in palliative care, and
- Courses to build competence and skills in research in palliative care.

We are deeply grateful with the DPWMF, especially with Olivia Dix, Head of the Palliative Care Initiative for this grant and their confidence in our organization, and especially for their support of the development of hospice and palliative care in Sub Saharan Africa.

Grunenthal GmbH (Germany) for their unconditional donation, to help support our educational and research programs and activities in palliative care. Many thanks to Grunenthal, and especially to Dr. Detlef Von Zabern for his support of global palliative care.

Friends of IAHPC: A group of volunteers and members has created a website called Friends of IAHPC intended to increase the awareness of and help promote hospice and palliative care development worldwide. Their goal is to keep people informed on how palliative care can make a difference on the quality of life of patients, families and caregivers. A series of announcements will be sent this month. We ask you to share and help spread the message of this new campaign.

The campaign website is www.friendsofiahpc.org Please take a look and visit the website.

Until next month!
