Slovenian Hospice Association is a non-governmental, non-profit and humanitarian organization, established in 1995. Our association operates in public interest in the field of health and social care, all our services for users are free of charge. It is the only NGO in Slovenia, which has been active for 25 years in the field of dying, death and grieving: 25 years of compassionate monitoring of the dying and their relatives, 21 camps for grieving children and 15.000 hours of voluntary work per year, clear ethical and professional standards and the detabooization of death among the rest of population. In the past years, the Slovenian Hospice Association with its headquarters in Ljubljana has developed a network of eleven regional committees throughout Slovenia.Our mission is with all subtlety to listen to the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of dying patients and their relatives, alleviating suffering, supporting in their personal transformation and achieving the desired quality of life by providing a comprehensive compassionate care, education and advocacy for everyone who chooses to live to the end in a home or home-like environment.
