The current Portuguese Association of Palliative Care was founded on July 21, 1995, with the designation of the National Association of Palliative Care (ANCP), as can be seen in Diário da República, Series III, No. 223, of September 26, 1995. its purpose is to promote the development, study, research and teaching of palliative care for patients with advanced chronic progressive disease, with the aim of obtaining the best possible quality of life, integrating the psychological aspects.Region
