Public Health Palliative Care Unit (PHPCU) - La Trobe University

Description
The Public Health Palliative Care Unit (PHPCU) recognises that all communities and community and health organisations have a social and practical role to play in end-of-life care and support, drawing explicitly on evidence-base public health practice, strategies and frameworks. The Healthy End of Life Program (HELP) developed through research at the Unit provides a strengths-based implementation framework to unlock and mobilise untapped national, state, regional and local assets with the potential to make valuable contributions to improving end-of-life care outcomes for Australians. By building community and social capacity, and linking this with health and palliative care expertise, HELP builds an integrated end-of-life care approach where both the health and social needs of people are met.
