Description
Our unique blend of cancer research and patient care is transforming cancer prevention, detection and treatment. Established in 1978, Moores Cancer Center is the region’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Patient & Family Support Services Team led by Maria Tiamson-Kassab, MD, includes psychiatrists, psychologists, and other supportive care providers with expertise in treating patients and their family members who are dealing with cancer. We work as part of your oncology care. We specifically focus on patients who develop stress, anxiety, or other mental health issues as a result of their cancer, and on those whose pre-existing mental health conditions are impacting their ability to engage in treatment.Region
