The Federation of Palliative Care Flanders acts as a representative organization for all stakeholders in palliative care in Flanders. As a Federation, it promotes quality care for every citizen, together with the palliative care networks.
The Federation is a pluralistic organization that recognizes and values ​​differences in beliefs as a wealth and enrichment. She tries to realize her mission and vision transparently, loyal to her objectives and stakeholders.
To realize this mission, the Federation works on the basis of five policy lines: It acts as a knowledge and expertise center for palliative care that brings together innovative knowledge and expertise (also internationally) and makes it available to partners and to society in a broad sense in an accessible manner. These partners can be: palliative care networks, governments, care and educational institutions and care providers. The Federation creates broad social support for palliative care by informing and communicating with the population. She is a partner in the continuous development of care providers, active in palliative care through education, training and education. It conducts a policy towards the government and the professional field that is aimed at the further embedding and financing of palliative care in the various care settings and education. It organizes mutual consultations with the relevant actors in palliative care through structured consultation groups with the aim of further developing the Federation through mutual flow of information and in this way improving palliative care in Flanders.
