IPOS 13th World Congress of Psycho-Oncology
Call for Abstracts

The International Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS) and the Turkish Psychosocial Oncology Association (PSOD), in collaboration with the Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine Oncology Institute, are now accepting abstracts for the 13th World Congress of Psycho-Oncology, 16 - 20 October 2011, Antalya, Turkey. Submissions are due by Monday, 11 April 2011.

Bayt Abdullah Children's Hospice seeks to recruit a core team of experienced pediatric palliative care nurses and one more junior, but experienced, physician

Bayt Abdullah Children's Hospice http://www.bacch.org, the only pediatric hospice in the Middle East (opening 2011), will offer all families registered with the hospice: 

   a) A specialized professional service, free of charge for all children in Kuwait who meet the criteria for admission to the hospice, regardless of nationality or religion.

  b) The choice of home, hospice or hospital based care, or a combination of all three, depending on their needs.

  c) 24 hour support at the end of a telephone or in the family home. 

  d) Respect for individual preferences of children and families in relation to treatment and intervention.

This comprehensive, pediatric palliative care facility will embrace all the needs of children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, their families and their friends in an attractive, child friendly environment enabling them to live their lives as fully as possible for as long as possible.

COMPASS Collaborative Meeting: Supportive and Palliative Care Research: Making a Difference 14-15 April 2011, Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh

We are delighted to announce this conference organised by the Compass Collaborative in collaboration with BMJ group.

The conference features presentations from international leaders and innovators in the field, and it will host the launch of the new journal BMJ Supportive & Palliative Care. It includes interactive workshops, and the opportunity to hear government and funders’ perspective on the future landscape of supportive and palliative care research. We cordially invite you to submit abstracts by 25th January . All abstracts accepted for oral or poster presentations will be published in the first edition of the BMJ Supportive & Palliative Care.
