IAHPC has grants for travel to the 18th International Congress on Palliative Care

The International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC) will provide 10scholarships to palliative care workers from developing countries to attend the18th International Congressin Montréal on October 5-8, 2010. The congress organizers have put together a comprehensive program with sessions in English, French and Spanish. See the Congress program in http://www.palliativecare.ca/

Applications are accepted from individuals from all health professions and an effort will be made to have a balanced regional representation. Palliative care workers from Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and Africa are welcome to apply.

Preference will be given to applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • Are at least 50% dedicated to palliative care in their current work
  • Have not received grants from IAHPC in the past 2 yrs
  • Graduated less than 10 years ago from specialty or medical school
  • Have an accepted abstract for poster / oral presentation

The deadline to submit posters to the congress was May 30th.

Deadline to apply for this traveling scholarship is July 15th .

The congress organizers will be giving a reduced registration fee to applicants from low and middle income countries.

Those interested in applying for a grant to attend this meeting, need to complete a Traveling Scholarship application through our website at http://www.hospicecare.com/Travellscholars/

International Palliative Care Network’s Poster Exhibition - 2010  

Palliative Care Network Community (PCNC) is pleased to announce the hosting of the International Palliative Care Network Poster Exhibition - 2010. This is an online poster exhibition open to all palliative care professionals from across the globe. Lead authors of all accepted posters will receive an e-certificate. The top 1st, 2nd and 3rd posters will receive US$500, US$300 and US$200 respectively. Participation is free. The poster is to be presented on a Power Point template that is provided.  

The last date of submission is August 31, 2010.
