Missoula-VITAS Quality of Life Index (MVQOLI) Implementation Train-the-Trainer.

Date: January 18 & 19, 2007
Location: Clearwater, Florida, USA

MVQOLI is a measurement tool developed by Ira Byock, MD and VITAS Healthcare Corporation. This self-reported tool was designed specifically to subjectively measure hospice patients’ quality of life. The program will provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to train hospice staff and integrate the MVQOLI into agency systems.

End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Train-the-Trainer Course

Date: March 5 & 6, 2007

This course is designed for the advanced EOL clinician, who wishes to train others in EOL care. The ELNEC curriculum contains nine modules addressing critical aspects of end-of-life care. These modules include: (1) Nursing Care at the End of Life (2) Pain Management (3) Symptom Management (4) Ethical/Legal Issues (5) Cultural Consideration in End-of-Life Care (6) Communication (7) Grief, Loss, Bereavement (8) Achieving Quality Care at the End of Life (9) Preparation and Care for the Time of Death.

Caregiving Near Life’s End: The National Train-the-Trainer Program

Date: May 22, 23 & 24, 2007

This intensive program teaches a framework for training designed to empower caregivers to find meaning in the caregiving experience. Participants will be provided with skills and training materials needed to implement an effective caregiver training program.
